In Bangladesh, cloud hospital management software typically costs about Tk 1,000 a month for a single-doctor chamber, Tk 3,000–5,000 for a clinic, Tk 5,000–10,000 for a diagnostic centre and Tk 20,000 or more for a hospital with beds. Add one-time setup (free to Tk 1,00,000 depending on size), messaging credits and any hardware. Hospify Pro starts at Tk 999 / $19 a month for a chamber and Tk 20,000 / $399 for a hospital.

“How much does it cost?” is the first question every hospital owner asks about software — and the one most vendors answer last. Price lists are hidden behind “contact us”, quotes arrive as a single number with no breakdown, and the real cost only becomes clear a year later.
This guide sets out what hospital management software (HMS) actually costs in Bangladesh in 2026, what drives the price up or down, the costs people forget, and how to compare two quotes fairly. We use Hospify Pro’s published prices as a reference point, because they are public — but the same questions apply to any vendor.
The short answer: typical monthly prices
For cloud (subscription) software in Bangladesh, these are realistic ranges for 2026:
| Facility | Typical monthly price | What usually drives it |
|---|---|---|
| Single-doctor chamber | Tk 800 – 1,500 | Number of chambers, assistants |
| Clinic or polyclinic | Tk 3,000 – 5,000 | Doctors, users, online booking |
| Diagnostic centre | Tk 5,000 – 10,000 | Users, lab workflow, collection centres |
| Hospital with beds | Tk 15,000 – 40,000 | Beds, departments, branches, modules |
| Hospital group | Tk 50,000+ | Branches, integrations, SLA |
| Standalone pharmacy | Tk 1,000 – 2,500 | Shops, users |
These are subscription prices. On top of them sit one-time setup, messaging and hardware — covered below.

Subscription vs one-time licence
There are two ways to pay for hospital software, and they are often compared unfairly.
One-time licence (on-premise). You pay a large amount upfront — often several lakh taka for a hospital — and the software runs on a server in your building. It looks cheaper over time, but you also pay for:
- The server and its replacement every few years.
- Backups, power protection and someone to check them.
- Annual maintenance, usually 15–25% of the licence price, for updates and support.
- An IT person or contractor when things break.
Subscription (cloud). You pay monthly or yearly. Hosting, backups, security updates, new features and support are included. You can start small and add modules later.
Over five years, a subscription is usually cheaper for chambers, clinics and diagnostic centres, and roughly comparable for hospitals — with far less risk. We cover the trade-offs in detail in cloud vs on-premise hospital software.
One-time setup costs
Setup is where quotes differ most. What you are paying for:
- Configuration — departments, doctors, fees, tests, prices, reference ranges, medicines.
- Data migration — moving patients, doctors, stock and outstanding dues from your old system or spreadsheets.
- Training — each role on its own screens: reception, doctors, lab, cashier, pharmacy, accounts.
- Go-live support — someone on hand for the first busy days.
For reference, Hospify Pro’s setup is free for Chamber, Clinic and Pharmacy (self-service with in-app guides and WhatsApp support), Tk 10,000 / $199 for Diagnostic (remote setup, master-data import and online training) and Tk 50,000 – 1,00,000 / $999 – 1,999 for Hospital (on-site setup, migration and role-by-role training).
Messaging: SMS and WhatsApp credits
Sending reports, prescriptions, appointment reminders and bills to patients is now expected — and every message has a cost. Ask each vendor:
- What does one SMS and one WhatsApp message cost?
- Are you charged for failed messages?
- Do credits expire?
With Hospify Pro, one credit sends one SMS or one WhatsApp utility message (including a PDF report). Credits cost from Tk 1.00 down to Tk 0.65 each depending on the pack, are valid for 12 months, and messages that fail to send are not charged. A diagnostic centre sending 150 reports a day spends roughly Tk 3,000–3,500 a month. More in our guide to sending lab reports on WhatsApp.
Hardware you may need
Most software runs on the computers you already have. Budget separately for:
- Barcode label printer for lab samples (diagnostic centres).
- Barcode scanner for the pharmacy counter.
- Thermal or A4 printers for receipts and reports.
- A TV for the queue display in the waiting area.
- A local server for larger hospitals that want every department to keep working together during an internet outage.
The hidden costs to ask about
These are the line items that turn a cheap quote into an expensive year:
- Per-user charges. Is there a user limit, and what does each extra user cost?
- Per-branch charges. What happens when you open a second branch or collection centre?
- Module charges. Are pharmacy, IPD, accounts or HR included, or extra?
- Storage. Is there a limit on reports, images and scanned documents?
- Custom reports. Will they charge for every new report you ask for?
- Support hours. Is support included, and when is it available?
- Price increases. Is the price fixed for the term, and how much notice is given?
- Leaving. Can you export all your data, free, at any time?
Hospify Pro publishes all of its add-on prices — extra users (Tk 200 / $5), extra branches (Tk 3,000 / $39), extra storage (Tk 500 / $9 per 50 GB) and each module — on the pricing page, and a full data export is always free.
A worked example: a 30-bed hospital
Here is what a realistic first year looks like for a 30-bed hospital with an outpatient department, a laboratory and an in-house pharmacy, on Hospify Pro:
| Item | First-year cost |
|---|---|
| Hospital plan, annual billing (10 × Tk 20,000) | Tk 2,00,000 |
| Setup, migration and on-site training | Tk 50,000 – 1,00,000 |
| Messaging (20,000-credit pack × 3) | Tk 45,000 |
| Hardware (label printer, scanner, queue TV) | Tk 40,000 – 60,000 |
| Total, year one | about Tk 3.4 – 4.1 lakh |
From year two, the cost drops to the subscription plus messaging — roughly Tk 2.5 lakh a year. Pharmacy, IPD, double-entry accounts and emergency/OT are already included in the Hospital plan.
How to compare two quotes fairly
Put every vendor’s quote into the same table:
- Year-one total — subscription, setup, migration, training, messaging, hardware.
- Year-two-onwards total — the recurring cost once you are live.
- What is included — modules, users, branches, storage, support.
- What happens at the edges — offline operation, late payment, leaving.
Then look at what the software saves. Controlled discounts, accurate referral commission, fewer lost bills and fewer “is my report ready?” phone calls usually repay the subscription many times over. Our 12-point checklist for choosing hospital software covers what to test during a trial.

Frequently asked questions
How much does hospital management software cost in Bangladesh?
Subscription software usually ranges from about Tk 1,000 a month for a chamber to Tk 20,000 or more a month for a hospital with beds, plus a one-time setup fee and messaging credits. One-time licence software can cost several lakh taka upfront plus yearly maintenance.
Is a one-time licence cheaper than a monthly subscription?
Not usually over five years. A one-time licence needs your own server, backups, updates and an IT person, and most vendors still charge 15–25% a year for maintenance. A subscription includes hosting, backups, updates and support.
What hidden costs should I ask about?
Ask about setup and data migration, per-user or per-branch charges, SMS and WhatsApp messaging, extra storage, report customisation, training, support hours and the cost of exporting your data if you leave.
Is there free hospital management software?
There are free and open-source systems, but someone still has to host, secure, back up, update and support them. For most hospitals the staff time and risk cost more than a paid subscription.
